Computer Aided Design/ Computer Aided Manufacture

While we have worked wax by hand for years and still do, we often come up with designs that are extremely difficult or impossible to do by hand.   

 We usually begin with a hand sketch, these can be basic or very complex.  The hand sketch gives the general idea of the design, but it is still a 2d flat sketch.  To make sure the designer and customer are on the same page, it is nice to generate a life-like render with realistic metal and gems.  To do these renders we make the model in CAD.

We looked at several CAD/CAM solutions before we made the investment and decided that Gemvision was the best company for us.  They have the best software for jewelry but even better they manufacture a 4axis CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) mill that we use to carve our wax designs.
